Everyone, As some of you know, I've had something of a personal emergency come up this week - my mother had to go have a very risky cardiac test performed today. While everything came through pretty well, she's still got her follow-up appointment on Friday, and... long story short, I'm not entirely certain I'll be available for a Saturday class. This does not mean that class this weekend is cancelled, per se. More on that once firm details are made final. What I'd really like to throw out there more than anything is the upcoming gear order. I had originally planned to collect funds this weekend from everyone that wanted to order anything so that I could place the order by the end of the weekend. As I may, or may not, make it out this weekend, I wanted to touch base with everyone about a slightly different idea: I will, within reason, pay for an order up front, and trust everyone to reimburse me for whatever it is they request. In other words, if you want to order something, let me know what it is, and any pertinent information (size, options, etc.), and so long as it's not beyond my means (i.e. everyone suddenly deciding that they need brand new, hand-stitched bogu), I'll let you know what the total cost will be, and the next time you see me you can give me that amount for what you ordered. If anyone has any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Yours in Budo, Jonathan Anderson

Sorry to hear about your mother, hope all goes well for her and your family. In regards to Saturday's class, I will not be there....road trip to wva with family, but if we are up for class on Sunday, that would be sweet. As for the weekend order- I do have a question in regards to the kendogi.....I understand that "traditionally" that men are supposed to wear the navy blue and women wear the white. Is it okay that I wear a white kendogi vs. the navy blue....personal preference. If not, no problem.

I appreciate everyone's well-wishes - many thanks to all of you.
Class this weekend will go on Saturday - Michael Vanderhoof will take care of the curriculum to be covered in my absence.
As for gear, I'd prefer for anyone male and not a pre-teen to wear the traditional indigo blue keikogi and hakama.
